West Ham vs Chelsea 1-3 (11/09/2010)

Since we are staying pretty close to West Ham and Upton Park is also one of the football stadiums we had wanted to visit, we went to search online for any available matches and were pretty lucky to be able to secure 2 tickets to watch West Ham United Vs Chelsea.  It is considered a London Derby match so we can expect a certain level of rivalry atmosphere, not to mention the 2 teams at the opposite end of the table. As usual the London tube network is always either suspended or under upgrading works so we had to take a direct bus there with the journey time at around 40 mins (it would have just taken 15-20 mins to reach with the tube).

I tried to blend in by wearing the home team's colors but i only had a turtle neck sweater...better then nothing right?

The Chelsea supporters were seated at the lower tier of the stadium, directly beneath us and even if their numbers were so much lesser then the West Ham supporters, their chants were so loud and filled the stadium with verses like ‘ ENGLAND’S NO1’ or ‘CHAMPIONS, CHAMPIONS’ much to the dismay of us. “Enjoy this moment of cockiness you Chelsea supporters as it won’t last much longer “- we mumbled to ourselves…

Unfortunately, within 2 minutes of the game Chelsea had scored through a corner.

The game ended and Scott Parker managed to get a consolation goal for the home team.

During half-time the commentator announced the scores for the other teams and to my dismay i heard Manchester United drew 3-3 with Everton…hopefully they will pick themselves up against another team from Merseyside next week!

p.s. If you guys are wondering why there are no videos it is because the EPL forbids any video that has contents of the match to be uploaded on youtube.
